Chip hits the beach

Chip likes the beach, but you should have seen him run when the ocean wave rolled in and got his foot wet.  Guess he thought he was about to get a bath. It was beautiful down here - 85 and sunny and not too humid. Great day for the beach, which is where we went for the afternoon.

Weekend trip

This weekend Jazz and I took a little drive, down to Grass Valley California (just across the state line from Reno). We decided to breed Jazz one last time (she's 6 yrs old now). The male we have chosen is traveling the nation pursuing his show career, so for the first time at Black Diamond Dals we did a Surgical Implant A.I.  Seeing we live in the boonies, we had to drive to a location that has a reproductive specialist, so we decided to drive down to California to the one the male dog's owner has used several times with great success. Jazz and I drove down on Friday, Saturday morning she had surgery, we then got back in the van and drove home, arriving at 3:30am Sunday morning (thanks to the weather and roads). This photo was in Southern Oregon on Friday, click on the photo so it gets bigger and you'll see some of the approximately 200 antelope that were in this location (Jazz is in the lower right hand side of the photo).

Wet Jack

Hi Deb

Just had to send you this picture. Yesterday is was raining so hard that he had to come and snuggle under the blankets with me after our walk. My Dalmatian "lap dog" doesn't quite fit in my lap anymore. :)

Happy Valentines Day from Samantha & Olive

Dear Deb, Adrian, and all the Dals,

Olive and I wanted to send you all some Valentine's Day love, and share a picture of the perfectly heart-shaped spot on her hip. She has another one on her shoulder, but the one on her hip almost looks like a tattoo it's so perfect.

Mom, Dad, Ringo and Mozart are driving back from New Mexico right now, and the puppies should have a reunion sometime late tomorrow afternoon. We'll send you pictures then of the cute spottiness.

Hope all is well! Izza's Lotto pictures are wonderful. I'd definitely buy a ticket if I lived in Oregon.

JR's first time in the BIG Dog Park

Jr got to see the dog park the day his brother Hunter went to his new home, but the two boys only got to play in the 'little dog' area and sniff the big dogs through the fence line. Today Jr graduated to the Big section, and boy did he enjoy it! There was a 5 month old Bassett hound puppy, a wolf, great Dane, Newfie and lots of mixed dogs. When we arrived there was close to 30 dogs in the park, but he did a great job meeting and greeting each of them. He clearly had some favorites, but found each and everyone of them interesting.

News from New Hampshire

Ti is doing well and has been joining me on my snowshoe excursions this winter. I've taken him up a small mountain (1200ft elevation gain) a couple of times but we mostly go on flat to rolling terrain. He enjoys it and it's great exercise in freshly fallen snow. We have gone through a ton of Musher's Secret. I put bag balm on his paws afterward and it has worked out very well. He's only had one cut so far and it wasn't serious.

Hotel Sutor

Last night we had 3 house guests. A GSP, Brittney Spaniel and a 10 month old Newfie/lab mix. All three dogs were being sent from a rescue in Salt Lake City to Seattle where they would be heading to their new homes. The trip requires the dogs to be in a vehicle for 2 days, so they really enjoyed their stay at Hotel Sutor where they got to run and play in our backyard, then when we got to cold to stay outside any longer they continued the fun indoors. Most of our dogs tolerated their presents, but JR thought it was Christmas! The GSP in particular, was fantastic about playing with him and put up with being bit with puppy teeth every time he stopped playing. JR was very good about sharing his toys with our house guests.

Adrian really enjoyed the GSP Davie; Davie seemed to like Adrian pretty well too!

JR's 4 mth Birthday photos

We spent the day having fun with the boy today. First we went to L&G in Walla Walla where he met lots of excited people, then to handling class (JR is enrolled into an obedience handling class for socialization) and then we went to the park where we snapped these photos while he was having a good time hunting rabbits. It was a fun and long day for a 4 month old.

Photos arrived

Our photos from January 20th arrived today. These are of Bow after winning his final point for his Champion title and Romeo won Best of Breed the same day. Bow is one of Romeo's sons and is 1 1/2 years old. We're very proud of both of these boys!
